University of Adelaide and UniSA Workshop

Sep 19, 2024

On 6th September, Professor Nicole Graham (University of Sydney) and Professor Amanda Kennedy (QUT) led and facilitated a one-day workshop for legal educators from the University of Adelaide and UniSA about embedding climate change in the new LLB (Hons) curriculum accompanying the merger of these two universities into Adelaide University (AU). The day opened with a presentation from Prof Graham and from Prof Kennedy on the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ of incorporating climate change and sustainability in the LLB program before breaking into five sub-curricular clusters to workshop ideas and develop these into scaffolded pathways across the core curriculum. Prof Graham’s opening presentation featured the book cover and contents of the Becoming a Climate Conscious Lawyer book and introduced the next project by the team: the Educators’ Companion volume, to which there was much interest and follow-up conversations.
